God damn, I hate having to write fucking reports. Inside: Help me figure out Openoffice Chart's stupidity.

So I'm trying to plot a graph. You'd think that'd be easy enough. I have a list of X coordinates and a list of Y coordinates but all this dumb chart program wants to do is plot both lists on the Y axis against a meaningless "row number". Gah! The row number doesn't mean anything you dumbass pos program!

Example:
X Y
1 100
5 150
7 200
10 230

I mean it's like the simplest function I can imagine wanting to do with a chart but I guess the things designed for damned calanders and knowing all the data not a few random scatterplots like you get in, you know, science. Stupid program.

Anyone tell me how I can make it graph it right?

Oh well. At least it's lunchtime. Poll: What should I have?

Do the charting there and import into Open Office. the graphing wizard is very user friendly in the later versions of office.

Very few Windows machines here. I think Henry has the Mac version of Office on his laptop, but he's not in today.

Select XY chart - pictuere of a scatter chart. Select the one with the points joined up.

Doesn't that work?

Still kind of buggy. Even when compared with most versions of Office.

I really can't think of any improvement that the OpenOffice guys have made to the concept of the office suite, apart from not charging for it.

I used some onbline word processor, cant remember what it was called now. It was a bit like a big ass version of google mail. I assume it used all sort of Ajax trickery. It was way better than the standard word processer.

But other than making it free, there probably is no advantage. I rarely use these things to be honest, I'm way more comfortable in VIM.
